HLB Mann Judd, Pitcher Partners bolster partner ranks

Mid-tier accounting firms HLB Mann Judd and Pitcher Partners have begun the financial year by each announcing six new partners across their advisory, audit, tax and finance practices.
HLB Mann Judd promoted six Sydney-based directors to partner and one in Brisbane. In the firm’s Perth office, partner Norman Neill has also been appointed managing partner, returning to a role he previously held from 2014 to 2020.
Australasian association chair Tony Fittler said the appointments supported the firm’s growth and were an “important milestone”.

“The accounting profession is experiencing a quickly changing environment with all practices becoming more complex,” he said.
“At the same time, we are managing increased technological capability while remaining strong to our core focus of people and clients.”
The Sydney directors were all promoted after spending nearly two decades at the firm.
Georgina Ridhalgh joined the firm in 2003 straight from university; new audit partners James Friend and Vanessa Abboud had been with HLB Mann Judd since 2009 and 2008 respectively.
Tax consultant Peter Bardos joined in 2009 and registered liquidator Matthew Levesque-Hocking joined in 2005.
In Brisbane, Dony Kurniadi was appointed partner in the firm’s audit and assurance division. The firm said he started his career in Indonesia before moving to Australia in 2006 and joined HLB Mann Judd in 2015.
Meanwhile, mid-tier rival Pitcher Partners has also appointed six partners across various offices on the east coast.
The partners include Madhavi Perera (business advisory and assurance), Tracey Norris, Brisbane (private business and family advisory, superannuation), Brendan Peacock, Melbourne (investment advisory), Linda Oliver (private business and family advisory), Vin Parasuraman (corporate finance) and Ankit Sharma (private business and family advisory).
Adelaide-based Perera joined Pitcher Partners in 2010 after working across Sri Lanka, Botswana and Australia for over 25 years; Oliver and Peacock started at the firm as graduates and Sharma joined the Sydney office straight out of high school.
Parasuraman and Caso both joined in recent years from big four firms.
National chairman John Brazzale congratulated the new partners and said their leadership and dedication would be instrumental in the network’s continued success.
“Our new partners come from across the country from various practice areas and diverse backgrounds but all bring a wealth of expertise and innovative thinking to our network,” he said.
“They all seek to not only deliver excellent service for clients but build strong relationships and deliver commercial advice that moves our clients closer to their goals. Their advancement signifies our ongoing commitment to nurturing talent.”
