Software platform for accounting and professional services Ignition has announced the appointment of Greg Strickland as its global president to guide its next growth phase.

Strickland brings over 15 years of experience in the technology industry, having held prominent roles at global tech firms such as Box, Productboard and Periscope Data, alongside advisory positions with emerging startups like Loom, Preset, and Grain.

In his new role, Strickland will be based in San Francisco, CA, and will oversee all operational aspects of the business globally with the Ignition executive team reporting to him and partnering closely with chief executive and founder, Guy Pearson.

Ignition said his extensive background in scaling SaaS businesses aligns seamlessly with Ignition’s vision to revolutionise client engagement, billing, and payment processes for service-based businesses.

Strickland said Ignition is transforming how accounting and service businesses operate, particularly in addressing critical challenges such as accounts receivables and cash flow management.

“While everyone is talking about AI, the real need for every small business is AR. Cash flow is the lifeblood of every small-medium sized business and has downstream impacts on everything – ability to make payroll, pay vendors, invest in growth, pay mortgages just to name a few,” said Strickland.

“By enabling professional services businesses to streamline their client engagement, billing and payments processes, Ignition empowers owners and partners to enhance efficiency and profitability so they can focus on driving growth and innovation. I am thrilled to lead Ignition towards even greater growth in the coming years.”

Ignition chief executive Guy Pearson said Ignition was excited to have Strickland join the business.

“He brings great bench strength to the team at Ignition and helps set us up for scaling, particularly in the US,” said Pearson.

“With a background helping do this at other great companies and advising some of those we admire greatly, Greg is the right fit for our business at this stage.”
